Great Adult Slushy Recipes

If you were a big fan of slush puppies when you were a kid, but there is no reason at all why those sweet and refreshingly cooling drinks should be reserved for just children.  Nowadays, thanks to the invention of more portable and compact slush machines that you can buy for your own home, it is much easier to get your hands on a slushy.  If you are new to slush machines and are interested in finding out more about them and advice on which is the best brand and model to buy for your own circumstances and budget please have a look at www.myslushmachine.co.uk.  The best thing is that by having the capabilities to make those icy drinks at home; it means that you can add your own, adult twist to them.

Rather than just having a strawberry flavoured slushy, you could add some alcohol to transform it into a rather classy and chilled Daiquiri.  In the following post we will look at a few interesting recipes that you should try out, particularly if you have any parties or other social gatherings planned in the very near future.  Even if you aren’t, there is no reason why you can’t try these out all by yourself for an extra special walk down memory lane.

Alco Watermelon Slush

Ingredients

1 x Cupful of diced watermelon with the seeds removed

6 x Cups of cranberry juice

2 x Cups of chilled vodka

Instructions

Blend the cranberry juice and watermelon chunks together in a blender or food processor and then pour into ice cube trays.  Allow them to freeze for four hours and then when they are frozen, pop them into your blend them and mix with the vodka until it’s a slushy-type consistency.  Pour into pre-chilled glasses and enjoy.

Lime berry Slush

Ingredients

1 x Cupful of raspberries

6 x Cups of limeade

2 x Cups of chilled vodka

Instructions

Blitz the limeade and raspberries in a blender or food processor until it has a smooth consistency and then pour into ice cube trays.  Place the ice cube trays in the freezer for up to four hours.  Once the ice cubs are frozen solid and you are ready for a drink, pop them into your blender and mix together with the vodka until it has a slushy consistency.  Pour into glasses, sit back and enjoy!

Tropical Slushy Surprise

Ingredients

2 x Cups of pineapple chunks

2 x Cups of coconut milk

750 ml of pre-chilled sweet wine, such as Riesling

Instructions

Mix the coconut milk and pineapple chunks together in a blender or food processor until smooth and then pour evenly into ice cube trays.  Stick the ice cube trays in the freezer for roughly 4 hours until they are frozen solid.  When you are ready to serve, simply pop the ice cubes into a blender again and mix with the sweet wine until the mixture has a slushy-like consistency and then pour into glasses and enjoy!
