Hi!

Thanks for stopping by! My names Charlene and this is Chaos Bakery!

This blog is dedicated to my culinary experiments and baking endeavours. I’ve come a long way since making blackcurrant buns in my nana’s kitchen!

I’m not a perfect baker. I’ll hold my hands up and admit that freely. In fact, I’m very far from the perfect baker. I throw flour over the kitchen, I spill mixture on the floor and I nearly always forget to set a timer. But somehow, my creations always seem to take great form and, not to toot my own horn, but they taste pretty amazing too!

I have worked hard to improve my techniques, and I know all the theories, I just like to make it look like my kitchen is in chaos! It’s organised chaos though, I promise.

So now I’m going to help you control your own chaos bakery! It doesn’t always have to end in tears and burnt cake. I’ll be creating easy to use recipe guides, technique tips, nutritional advice, dietary adaptions and pretty much anything else you guys would like me to talk about!

It’s been a long road to get to where I am today. It hasn’t always been smooth but I’m working hard to get my baking skills honed and creating beautiful and delicious cakes for my family and friends.

I’m not very interesting as a person, all my exciting bits lie in my kitchen! I grew up in the heart of the countryside and loved spending time in the fields with all the farm animals and wildlife, even throughout university, when I moved to the centre of Leeds, I craved a big open grassland with nothing but green as far as the eye could see.

The best thing about living in the country was spending weekends with my nana in her big farmhouse. Nana had a gorgeous kitchen with a proper aga cooker and every tool you could ever imagine. This is where my love for the kitchen began. Nana taught me everything I know and I’m truly grateful to have been partially raised by such an amazing woman.

Sadly, nan is no longer with us, but she lives on through my baking and through everything that I do in the kitchen.

But anyway, check out a few of my blogs and send me a message if there’s anything you’d like to read about. Can’t wait to hear from you!
